Mission Brief

Need a quick game between tournaments? Want to test out that new list you've been brewing? Or just looking for a friendly opponent to chat with? The Open Play Tables are your sanctuary for unstructured BattleTech fun!

This is a dedicated, low-pressure zone where you can bring your own 'Mechs, terrain, and maps to play pick-up games with fellow pilots. There are no official formats, no brackets, and no pressure, just pure tabletop gaming. Whether you want a quick 30-minute skirmish or a full-length campaign match, the tables are open all day.

What to Expect

• Bring Your Own Gear: Please bring your own 'Mechs, dice, and maps. We have tables and chairs, but the rest is up to you!
• Community Matchmaking: Not sure who to play? Ask the Con Staff, and they will help connect you with other players looking for opponents.
• Flexible Timing: Drop in whenever you like within the session hours. Stay for one game or the whole shift!
• Casual Atmosphere: Perfect for trying out the new rules, swapping stories, or just enjoying the hobby in a relaxed setting on the historic deck.

Why RSVP?

While Open Play does not require a seat reservation like our competitive tournaments, we are asking for an RSVP specifically to gauge interest and plan logistics.

• Table Allocation: Knowing how many pilots plan to drop in helps us arrange enough tables and ensure we have staff on hand to assist with matchmaking.
• Terrain Setup: If interest is high, we may deploy additional loaner terrain sets to fill gaps.
• Staffing: Helps us coordinate which Con Liaison will be present at specific times to manage the flow.

Please note: This RSVP does not guarantee a specific time slot. Seating and table space are available on a first-come, first-served basis when the hall opens. However, your response ensures we are prepared for the crowd you expect!

Logistics & Notes:

• Location: The Annex Overflow is located steps from the ship's galley on the Main Deck (Sat/Sun). On Friday night, tables will be set up in the CPO Mess Hall (2nd Deck).
• Space Management: While there is no hard cap on players, table space is limited. We encourage early arrival if you have a large terrain setup or need a specific configuration.
• Support: A dedicated staff member will be present throughout the day to assist with rule questions, find opponents, and ensure the space remains organized.

Come for the game, stay for the camaraderie! No formal RSVP required for individual games, but please register your interest below so we can prepare the bay for you.
