A Letter to the Inner Sphere: Who We Are

Welcome to New England Mech Con 2026.

We are the New England BattleTech League (NEBL), a group of pilots, historians, and hobbyists who believe that BattleTech deserves more than just a corner table in a hotel ballroom. We believe it deserves a battleship.

Our Mission Simply put: To build community. We want to create a space where veterans of the Clan Invasion can swap stories with rookies fresh out of the Academy, where painters can show off their latest work, and where the love for the Inner Sphere brings people together. We aren't a corporation; we are your neighbors, your friends, and your fellow pilots.

Why the USS Massachusetts? Last year, we proved we could pull off a convention on the decks of the USS Massachusetts. This year, we are doubling down.

We chose this venue not just because it is the coolest place to host a BattleTech convention (which it is), but because it is the smartest. By securing a historic warship for a fraction of the cost of a generic hotel, we are able to pour more resources into the things that actually matter to you:

  • Better Food: Upgrading from standard cafeteria fare to a proper galley menu.
  • Better Terrain: Investing in custom maps and high-quality props for the Mega Battles.
  • Better Experiences: Creating immersive events like the "Nautical Nights" scavenger hunt that you literally cannot get anywhere else.

Who We Are We are a volunteer-run organization. Every member of "The Team" is here because they love this game. We don't take salaries; we take pride in seeing the community thrive. We are the ones setting up the tables, printing the 3D trophies, managing the safety protocols on the narrow decks, and answering your emails at 10 PM.

We are building something special here. We are proving that a community-driven event can be professional, safe, and unforgettable without the corporate markup.
