How to Jumpstart Your FLGS BattleTech Community

Event: How to Jumpstart Your FLGS BattleTech Community
Time: Sunday, September 20th | 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM
Location: Cove Cinema, 2nd Deck BB59
Host: Anthony S. (Organizer, New England Mech Con)

Why We Need Your RSVP: This is an interactive workshop and networking session designed to help solo players, store owners, and veterans build a sustainable BattleTech community from scratch. While seating is first-come, first-served, we request an RSVP to help us prepare the room for collaboration and ensure we have enough materials for the "Actionable Advice" checklist everyone receives.

Your response helps us determine:

  • Room Layout: Arranging tables to facilitate group discussion, breakout sessions, and networking rather than just rows of chairs for a lecture.
  • Material Prep: Printing enough copies of the "Community Building Checklist," sample flyer templates, and Discord server setup guides for every attendee.
  • Networking Groups: Estimating the number of participants to organize small group discussions where you can troubleshoot specific local challenges (e.g., "My store is too small," "No one shows up").
  • Staffing: Ensuring host Anthony has adequate volunteer support for distributing handouts, managing time during the Q&A, and facilitating connections between attendees who live near each other.

Important Notes:

  • No Seat Guarantee: RSVPing does not reserve a specific seat. This session is popular for aspiring organizers and community builders. Please arrive by 3:35 PM (10 minutes early) to secure a spot and start networking with fellow pilots.
  • Interactive Format: Bring your notebook! You will be leaving with a concrete plan and steps you can take the moment you return home. This is not just a lecture; it is a roadmap session.
  • Topics Covered: Finding the first few players when you feel isolated, strategies for hosting demo games and beginner nights, sustaining growth after the initial hype, partnering with FLGS owners, and becoming an official Catalyst Demo Team agent.
  • Who Should Attend: Solo players looking for a group, store owners wanting to boost traffic, veteran gamers looking to mentor newcomers, and anyone passionate about growing the hobby in their region.

Mission Objective: Build your lance, grow your community, and bring BattleTech to your doorstep. Sign up now so we can make sure the cinema is ready with the tools you need to launch your local scene, and remember to get there early to connect with others who are ready to start building!
